Why Today's Music Rankings Don't Work

📊

Algorithmic Bias

Streaming algorithms favor commercially promoted tracks, burying genuinely great songs beneath mainstream popularity.

💰

Commercial Hype

Traditional charts measure marketing spend, not musical quality. Hit singles dominate while deeper tracks go unheard.

🔇

Fans Have No Voice

Existing platforms lack meaningful fan input in curation. Dedicated listeners who know every deep cut are sidelined.

🧭

No Discovery Path

New listeners have no way to find an artist's best work beyond the top 5 most-streamed songs.

We're Making Song Discovery Fan-Driven

Here's how The Hidden Jams works

1

Pick an Artist

Browse our directory or search for an artist you love.

2

Rank Their Songs

Select 5 to 50 songs and drag them into your personal ranking. Your #1 pick earns 9 points, #2 earns 8, and so on.

3

Rate Your Fan Level

Tell us how well you know the artist on a 1-10 scale. This contributes to the artist's overall Fanstanding score.

Discover Hidden Jams

When enough fans rank songs, we surface Hidden Jams — tracks with high fan ratings but low streaming numbers. These are the songs fans truly love that the algorithms missed.

Manage Your Music

Import your Spotify playlists to see which of your favorite tracks are Hidden Jams. Create custom collections, reorder to your heart's content, and export anytime.

How Points Work

Higher-ranked songs earn more points. Points from all submissions combine to determine overall song rankings.

How Fanstanding Works

When you rank an artist's songs, you also rate your fan level from 1-10. The average across all fans becomes that artist's Fanstanding score.

Example

If 50 fans rate their fan level and the average is 5.0, the artist's Fanstanding score would be 5.0.
